Also I have great lenses and mostly do landscapes, so my images are already pretty sharp as I'm using a tripod and focussing manually. But as I said, I've only been working with it for a few days. If I do deconvolution sharpening in Lightroom and then use high pass sharpening in Photoshop, I seem to get results that are just as good. I am extremely impressed with Topaz Denoise AI, but less so with this other plugin. I've been testing it for a few days now and I'm not that convinced of its value. The input you all give me I take very seriously. Thanks in advance for opinions and advice.
Topaz sharpen ai plugin for photoshop lightroom upgrade#
And that leads me to ask a question: In your opinion, is the new version a substantial upgrade over the original, justifying the upgrade price? If not, what would you recommend in its place? Of one thing I'm convinced-Photoshop really doesn't do the job, nor do any other programs that aren't devoted solely to sharpening.

I have the license codes for these, but can't download them from Topaz or transfer them from my old computer.Īt any rate, to get the latest version of Sharpen AI I would have to pay $56 anyway, since it has been well over a year since I bought the original. That hardly surprises me, since Topaz has also lost records of my other purchases, which includes Clarity, Remask, Simplify, PhotoFX Lab, Detail, Adjust 3.0, B&W Effects, Studio 2, DeNoise, and Gigapixel. I have just recently bought a new Windows 10 desktop, and for some strange reason Topaz does not have a record of the purchase in my account. There was no doubt, though, that it was a work in progress. I bought the first version, and with a lot of tinkering could get it to work fairly well. When Sharpen AI was first released for sale it had some nice innovations, although it was anything but perfect.
